LEGO Star Wars III: The Clone Wars (3DS)

Lego is at it again with the first 3DS Star Wars game, is it any good and is it worth getting find out now

So I have always been a BIG fan of the Star Wars universe and Lego naturally. So when the first Lego Star Wars game came out I enjoyed the hell out of it and that would be true for all the follow up titles released by the company. Picking up the 3DS I had a choice of two games and I picked this and Street Fighter (why the hell not) and I must say this version of the game is a great edition to have even though it is missing a few things from its other versions. Namely the big battles found in the console versions but in all honesty it doesn't take anything away from this game. This game is based off of the first two seasons of the CG clone wars t.v show and breaks the action into 12 planets with three acts a piece. If you are accustom to the usual Lego Star Wars action then this game doesn't stray too far from that formula, but instead of two characters on the screen you get one with the ability to toggle each character out with the trigger buttons. Some people will complain about this little thing but I find that it works fine and is faster then toggle the other character like in previous versions. The Jedi and Sith characters have been ungraded a bit with force jump powers, lightsaber climbing, and creating holes in the walls with their lightsabers. These additions are small but they add a cool animation. The trooper classes are broken up into light and heavy the former being able to grapple and snipe while the latter deals lots of damage and throws explosives. The other characters have received an upgrade but they are nice as usual. There are 100 characters in total spanning all the Star Wars movies and the CG series. The flying sequences are a nice addition and are reminiscent to the old Rogue Leader Star Wars games which I enjoyed the heck out of. Now the 3D effect is okay to say the least it doesn't effect the game play or look particularly well on the normal levels but on the flying missions and the cut scenes it looks pretty good. Plus collecting everything will take multiple play through s and hours of hunting. This game however will probably only appeal to fans of either lego or star wars but for a launch title this is one that I find to be better then the others (except for Street Fighter). One thing to note people have been talking about how the game freezes and crashes but I have not in the hours I've spent playing the game ran into any problems.

Game 3.5/5
Visual 4/5
Audio 4/5
Lasting Appeal 3/5
Overall 3.6/5
